What we do
Small & Galley Kitchen Remodel
A small kitchen is not a scaled-down large one. Every decision costs something adjacent, and the constraints that a big room absorbs quietly become the whole design problem.
The constraint is usually the walkway
In a galley the two runs face each other, and the distance between them governs whether two people can pass, whether a dishwasher door can open while someone is at the sink, and whether the oven can be loaded without blocking the room. Deeper counters buy storage and spend clearance. That trade is the design.
Counter circuits still apply
A small kitchen does not get a reduced electrical requirement. Overland Park publishes the detail explicitly: dishwashers and disposals belong on a circuit separate from the two required countertop small-appliance circuits. In a compact kitchen where the run is short and the appliance count is unchanged, that is easier to get wrong and more likely to matter.
Where the money goes
Small kitchens are cheaper in materials and rarely cheaper in labour. The trades still come, the inspections still happen, and the tight working space often slows the work rather than speeding it. Expect the saving to show up in cabinet and countertop quantity rather than in the overall day rate.
